AquaWatch is proud to announce our latest project in collaboration with Auckland Council. We are deploying 11 state-of-the-art edge computing cameras developed in Nelson by SnapCore, across selected locations around Auckland to help enhance sediment management plans and pollution responses.
Useful Technology for a Global Challenge
Our innovative approach leverages the power of edge computing and allows for the practical application of artificial intelligence to build towards real-time, accurate data on sediment discharge. This project addresses a pressing local issue but also contributes to solving a global problem. By closely monitoring preventable discharges , we can help improve waterway health for future generations.
Practical and Positive Impact
The deployment of these cameras simplifies the monitoring process, making it more efficient and cost-effective. Instead of relying on reactive testing, which is both time-consuming and expensive, our solution will work to provide continuous, automated surveillance. This allows for quicker response times and more informed decision-making. We are working to help stop the small issues, before they become bigger problems.
Tailored Solutions for Lasting Results
Every waterway is unique, and our bespoke solutions are designed to meet the specific needs of global diverse aquatic environments. By providing detailed, location-specific data to create event triggered actions, we can empower local authorities and water managers to implement more effective sediment management plans. This customisation ensures that the solutions we provide are practical and impactful, as well as innovative.
A Local Collaboration for Global Change
This project highlights the successful partnership between two New Zealand owned tech companies and a New Zealand council, supported by our installation partners, Omexom who are part of the Vinci group, working together to protect and build out the solutions we need to solve global problems.
Allowing us to then bring that global knowledge into play to solve local issues.
At AquaWatch, we take pride in our role as a leader in sustainable water management, and we are excited to see the positive changes this project will bring to Auckland’s waterways.
